We propose a method for studying the exponential stability of linear non-autonomous interconnected systems of differential equations based on a new concept called “integral gain.” This method employs non-coercive
Lyapunov functions and Banach’s fixed-point theorem for operators in pseudometric spaces. The examples demonstrate the advantages of the small integral gain conditions over previously known small-gain conditions.
